Apache at Olney, Texas

The Army aviator who flew this AH-64 Longbow to Olney for a fly-in they were having flew Cobra Helicopters in Vietnam. Hell, I was proud of this guy. I "worked" in Vietnam about the same time he was there and I very much envy his longevity as a military aviator. That guy has some really good DNA.

F-18 Super Hornet Vapor Cone (Explored)

Battle Creek Field of Flight Airshow

What a cool demonstration of the F-18 Superhornet. This is a shot of the vapor cone forming as the jet just about reached the speed of sound. The jet can fly twice as fast as it was going.

The shot is kind of blurry due to operator error but I thought the sight was rare enough to post anyway. The air show was a blast!

Aliens penetrating the planet!

Hong Kong Disneyland, on Lantau Island, lies fairly close to the international airport. Planes taking off can be seen from TomorrowLand. This sculpture, in Tomorrowland, appears to be on the verge of being penetrated by the tiny airplane. I loved the concept and fantasy of it.
